I love giving my nephews and nieces a day out with me to their favorite restaurant, park or movie on their birthdays. Giving them "things" just adds to the clutter and is soon forgotten. Special time shared together is remembered always...
especially with shared photos.
Your children need your presence,
more than your presents.

Now that you are ready to tackle your cluttered closet, don't let the question of where those items can be donated that are still perfectly good for someone else deter you Some clients just want to put them in our landfills--AUGHH! Many of you might live in area with homeless shelters, Dress for Success collections or other good places to give your things. But, if you are in an area where there is nothing close, here is an EASY free solutions!
Do you have gently used shoes or clothing that looked good in the store but were not so great when you tried them those first few times? How about that dress that is a bit snug, or the slacks you thought you would love and haven't worn for over a year? Comfort is what it is all about--if they aren't comply and make you feel great, pass em along.
Soles4Soles is a great non-profit organization. https://soles4souls.org They have partnered with ZapposForGood who will pay the cost of postage for your sending your gently used items to them. Go to http://www.zappos.com/zapposforgood/give and learn more. All you need to do is print out a prepaid UPS label, pack em up and drop off at any UPS store.
And, your gift is more closet space, and a wonderful feeling of having done good for someone else. Priceless.

Frankly I find that obscene. Especially when we think of children in shelters and living in cars that have virtually nothing.
For those of you that are regular readers, you know I love Real Simple Magazine. Here's a piece that might give you some ideas of getting control over the massive number of toys our kids seem to have.
Clutter is anything that neither brings you great joy nor serves a purpose.
